Samuel Ruberto | A Star in the Making

Building a Strong Foundation

Samuel Ruberto is quickly becoming a name to watch in Australian amateur boxing. With 16 wins and 4 losses to his name, he’s already established himself as a promising talent in the sport, at only 17 years old.

Training out of Lionsden Boxing Academy in Melbourne, Samuel is surrounded by a high-performance environment that pushes him to refine his technique and elevate his skills. With every session, he’s one step closer to his goal of becoming a professional star.

From Fitness to Fighting

Samuel first walked into a boxing gym at 13 in 2021, initially drawn to the sport for its fitness benefits. But it wasn’t long before he discovered his passion for boxing and decided to step into the ring for competition. Since then, he has earned Victorian and Australian titles, secured the 2024 King of the Ring Championship, and represented Australia in two international tournaments. Samuel's journey is only just beginning, with more titles and accomplishments ahead.

Driven by the Greats

Boxing, for Samuel, is about constant growth and pushing the limits of what he can achieve. His favourite fighter, Canelo Álvarez, is a major influence on his boxing style, particularly the way Canelo breaks down opponents with calculated pressure and defensive mastery. Samuel aims to mirror this precision in his own career, constantly refining his technique and improving his fight IQ.

While boxing brings immense satisfaction, Samuel is quick to acknowledge the sacrifices that come with the sport. The weight cuts are undoubtedly the toughest challenge, but they’re a necessary part of the competitive journey.

Outside the Ring

When he’s not training, Samuel enjoys unwinding with family and friends. Maintaining a balance outside the gym is essential for his mental and emotional wellbeing, allowing him to return to the ring with focus and determination.

Looking Ahead

Samuel wants to leave a legacy as one of the hardest-working fighters in the sport. He strives to be remembered for his dedication and the relentless heart he brings to every fight. With his commitment, passion, and determination, he’s on the fast track to becoming a dominant force in boxing.

In just one year of competing, Samuel clinched his first National title and soon after made his international debut. As he continues to evolve and grow, the future is looking incredibly bright for this rising star.
